Pubs in Rome, Italy
Located on one of the most famous streets in Rome for night time adventures, The Abbey Theatre Irish Pub welcomes all and sundry to eat, drink and be merry. From the outside it appears quite pokey and cramped, but thankfully it's quite spacious and accommodating once inside.
Many tourists and long stay visitors in Rome, come here to cheer their favorite teams in a fun-filled atmosphere or drink a good ale or cocktail with the always good-natured and chipper staff. The usual fanfare of standard pub food - hamburgers, French fries, onion rings and chicken wings is available but also Irish food such as beef in Guinness, Irish stew and Irish smoked salmon abounds. All this can be washed down with your choice of drink from the 70 different cocktails available. If the food choices sound a bit heavy, there are also salads and sandwiches served up fresh each day.
We like this pub because it is an excellent point of reference for travelers still in culture and language shock. The dark woods and decor of the six rooms are a representation of our ideals of pub layout. There is live music and even a comedy night appears on the regular calendar of events.
