Enoteca in Rome, Italy

Ai Tre Scalini is a historic and well-loved enoteca hidden amongst the winding, picturesque streets of Monti. It is a favorite hang out spot amongst Rome's young intellectual crowd and many expatriates who have made Rome their home.

If you visit during the summer months more than likely you may be unable to see the door of the locale, as there will be a group of chattering, smoking people outside, sipping wine from plastic cups. This no frills enoteca, if fortunately you find a table, will serve up some of the best cold cuts and light Roman cuisine in the city. The locale continually promotes young jazz artists and poets, and on any given night you will be serenaded by live music or poetry reading. For the more mature crowd Ai Tre Scalini can be a bit overwhelming, but for young people it is a great spot to mingle with the locals and make new friends. Reservations for tables are accepted by telephone only.
