Nightlife in Rome, Italy
![]()
This hip and happening locale near the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo, is a favorite with the Romans, in a city where quality live music spots are hard to find. Aptly named The Place, various genres of music ranging from rock, jazz, blues, ska, pop and all else in between are represented in performances by various groups and artistes.
We had the opportunity to visit both for dinner and a show, and we were highly impressed by the intimate but not cramped layout of the space. Dinner on the other hand left alot to be desired, as portions were too small for the price that was being asked. Our advice is skip the dinner, but definitely come for the late night performances. Patrons were so into the band that night, that many kicked off their shoes, pulled off their ties and danced late into the early morning to the infections rhythms.
Because The Place is frequented mainly by Italians, many of the artistes and their songs are Italian. However we can say that the elements, compositions and rhythms in each genre of music are the same as you would find in its English counterpart. Traveling is all about trying and experiencing something new.
Check the website before you go to see if that night, the group or artiste playing is suited to your taste
