I Colori del Buio

Events in Rome, Italy

I Colori del Buio
I Colori del Buio meaning Colours of Darkness honors the works of the highly acclaimed 'caravaggisti. The 'caravaggisti' are those artists who imitated the technique and style of Caravaggio during the XVII century. Their works are dominated by chiaroscuro elements, which though not invented by Caravaggio became his signature style.

The exhibition features 39 important pieces by followers of this Lombardian genius including those by Orazio Gentilischi.
