Fonclea

Nightlife in Rome, Italy

Fonclea

Fonclea found in the trendy neighborhood of Prati, near the Vatican, is an American- style underground bar which features quality musical performances almost every night of the week. The genre of music is usually in keeping with that of the blues era, with dixieland style jazz performances along with some soft rock and roll.

The locale also features a restaurant, which serves up dinner from 7pm to 2am nightly, with a wide array of American favorites like buffalo wings, French fries and hamburgers on the menu. We did visit a while back, and we were left disappointed by the quality of food and the service we received. Next time we'll skip dinner and head straight to the concert. Admission is free on weeknights but a nominal fee of €6 on the weekends is charged for entry.
