Restaurants in Rome, Italy
Molto Restaurant with its modern and contemporary interior design, is a breath of fresh air amidst the traditional Italian restaurants. With a philosophy to fuse nouveau architecture with classic, simple Italian gastronomy, Molto has managed to produce an avant-garde dining experience.
Elements of au courant design are seen through the liberal use of iron, wood and slate, each accented by the generous amounts of light which flow through seven French doors.
The cuisine retains the customary Mediterranean flavors, but many dishes have been given an added flare by the use of unconventional ingredients and imaginative presentation. The lack of consistency in flavors is a bit disconcerting as we have visited four times and have had diverse opinions about the food. The hip bar serves up tasty sandwiches and salads for those who want a quick bite to eat. Service overall is excellent, quick and friendly and it is easy to feel relaxed and comfortable even if you speak only English.
It is on the pricey end of dining, but the Sunday Brunch special is a cheap way to enjoy their cuisine. Molto is an excellent choice for New Year's Eve dinner as the price for the all inclusive dinner is one of the lowest in the city and the portions are extraordinarily large. Reservations are highly recommended especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
