Restaurants in Rome, Italy
With the Roman summer drawing to a close and the fresh winds of autumn beginning to cool the Eternal City, eating al fresco before the winter season, becomes an obsession. We happened upon this surprisingly authentic restaurant a few meters from Campo di Fiori.
Ditirambo tucked in a quiet street off the main access paths, welcomes clients to partake in the world of uncomplicated but unbelievably delicious Italian cuisine. The majority of dishes focus on highlighting, quality ingredients found in the regions of Lazio and Campania. Special care is taken to authentically replicate these gastronomic treasures, allowing tourists and locals alike to enjoy the very best of Italian cuisine.
Our evening started off with appetizers consisting of fried zucchini stuffed with ricotta, burratina with dried tomatoes and other specialities of the house. I opted for a first course of hard wheat pasta with crab and artichoke. I was left a bit disappointed by the overall quality of the dish but the second course of prime rare steak more than made up for this. Desserts which are all home made and lovingly prepared, could easily rival those found in pastry shops in Paris.
Prices as you can see from the downloadable menu are within average for a restaurant in the center of Rome. The quality of the food is way above the majority of restaurants in the center and the service you receive is exceptional. Reservations are recommended especially if you want to secure one of the highly coveted tables outside.
