Cocktail Bars in Rome, Italy
One of our all time favorites for 'apperitivi', Primo Cafè is consistently packed with locals and tourists looking for great drinks and lots of food at unbeatable prices. Located at the beginning of the Campo di Fiori zone, this easily accessible watering hole is the king of 'apperitivi' in Rome.
The outdoor seating arrangement ensures that during the rainless summers, you can soak up the sights and sounds of the street. During the rainy winters a fully enclosed tent keeps patrons nice and dry, while still being able to enjoy the street atmosphere.
From 7pm each night a spread of bite sized delicacies are laid out inside. The array of food available remains unbeatable in Rome with everything from mini pannini, cous cous, vegetable platters, cold pastas and our favorite hot, sizzling chicken wings. Though the plates are not of a large size, patrons can go back continually through the night without any problems. The large selection of drinks available from their menu ensures that even tea-totallers will be satisfied. The cost of the drink which is usually from 10 - 12 euro depending on what you choose, entitles you to partake in the buffet. Ordering another drink costs the same amount of money so Primo remains a better option for those looking for cheap food.
The service is excellent in our opinion, with the waitresses making sure that your order is quickly taken and tables are cleared and cleaned continuously. Of course such a great place is almost always packed with people especially during the summer. Waiting for a free table is the order of the day especially for groups of more than 4 people.
Primo comes highly recommended by us, as a dinner alternative for those on a tight budget.
