World Tourism Day

27th of September, Rome along with the rest of the world, will celebrate World Tourism Day, an initiative started by the United Nations to '“foster awareness of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural political and economic value.”  This year's theme will focus upon 'Tourism and diversity' and will see a range of museums in Rome opening free to the public.

The historic Vatican museums along with the Sistine Chapel will be amongst the list of museums participating in this year's activities.
