Pastry Shops in Rome, Italy
Attention lovers of sweets, pastries, desserts and all things sugary from the island of Sicily. We have found, willingly tried and tested one of the best pastry shops in Rome. Bar Mizzica another of Rome's best kept secrets, produces an exhaustive range of Sicilian delicacies.
Many of the desserts and sweets made in Sicily have origins, which can be traced to religious and cultural festivals dating back to times of pagan worship. But, whatever you believe, one thing that cannot be disagreed upon, is the authenticity of flavors that you find at Bar Mizzica. From cannoli to cassate, buccellato to pignolata, an endless array of cakes, cookies, creams and puddings are displayed unashamedly before you. We must warn you that there is no inside seating and don't be surprised that you may have to wait a bit to grab one of the tables outside. We highly recommend an early breakfast run, consisting of a foamy cappuccino, maybe a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and a pastry of your choice.
Though Bar Mizzica is off the well-worn tourist path, it is easily reached taking Metro Line B to stop Bologna and following the directions on the map. Share your experience with us and others.
