Summer nights in Rome are characterized by outdoor concerts, loads of dancing and lots of fruity drinks. The Place which we have mentioned before, has packed up and moved over to the banks of the Tiber River for the summer period.
So we know we're a bit late in bringing you this information. As the saying goes however, better late than never. FIFA Fan Fest which kicked off in June, has been attracting scores of football fanatics to Piazza di Siena in Ville Borghese.
The annual Rome Meets the World Festival for 2010, promises an even wider range of international artistes this year.
Set in one of the largest parks in Rome, the immaculately landscaped grounds of Villa Ada, play backdrop to a series of outdoor concerts from 18th June - 7th August.
One of the biggest fashion events in Rome - Alta Rome will take place this year from 10th - 14th July at Complesso monumentale Santo Spirito in Saxia. Alta Roma showcases the work of not only up and coming designers, but also collections from more established ateliers. Rome usually struggles to compete for space as a fashion capital, typically being overshadowed by sister city Milan.
The famous grunge band 'Hole', lands in the Eternal City on the heels of their sold out concert in Milan in February this year. The band's lead singer, the talented and at times controversial Courtney Love has sought to revive the popularity of Hole, even releasing a new album this year 'Nobody's Daughter'. With such hits as 'Celebrity Skin' , 'Malibu' and 'Awful', Hole's concert promises to attract both old and new fans.
The work of one of the most renowned Italian photographers Mimmo Jodice, is on display at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The 200 black and white photos chronicle the development in both craft and talent of this Neapolitan master. Shots detail everyday life in small Italian towns, the disastrous effects of disease in some of the world's most marginalized groups and his most recent work entitled 'Sea'.
The Foro Italico Grand Slam, the Italian leg of the pro beach volleyball circuit will take place this week from 17th - 23rd May at Foro Italico. With mens and womens teams competing for the jackpot prizes of €300,000 each, the competition on the sand is sure to be hotter than ever.
The works of the master himself Caravaggio, are presented in a bold, new compact exhibition at the Scuderie del Qurinale. The 'crystal-clear' exhibition focuses only on the most prominent pieces of the artist, thereby excluding works which are still undetermined as being produced by Caravaggio himself.

The 78th edition of the prestigious Piazza di Siena will take place this year from 27th - 30th May, 2010 in Villa Borghese. The four day event is designed to showcase the best in show jumping, with teams from all over the world including America, France and Spain participating annually in the competition.
Skunk Anansie the controversial British rock band, will command the stage at the Rock in Rome festival on 15th July. Skunk Anansie whose distinct style of music has led them to tour with groups such as U2, Aerosmith and Bad Religion, has been described as 'an amalgam of heavy metal and black feminist rage'.
For the 7th straight year in a row, the historic Castel Sant'Angelo will play host to the Monte Mario Motorcycling Circuit. This event welcomes motorcycling enthusiasts to admire, photograph and listen to the splendid sounds of engines of motorcycles from by gone eras, seen only now in the garages of collectors.
The annual Race for the Cure takes place this Sunday in Rome with the beautiful Stadio delle Terme di Caracalla as the starting point. Stage performances are characterized by energetic sets and crowd interaction, promising audiences an unforgettable opening night at this year's festival.

I Colori del Buio meaning Colours of Darkness honors the works of the highly acclaimed 'caravaggisti.
