New Years Parade

Cultural Events in Rome, Italy

New Years Parade

New Years ParadeOn January 1st each year, the new year is christened by a spectacular parade filled with marching bands, vibrant colors and throngs of people. All await the annual blessing by the Pope, who celebrates the Worldwide Day of Peace with thousands of people from around the world.

The traditional parade follows Via Conciliazione, culminating in St. Peter's Square, where the celebratory atmosphere intensifies. Invitations are extended to local military units along with American and Canadian bands, and spectators usually fall in line behind some of the bands as they proceed to St. Peter's Square.

An event to enjoy with the entire family and proceedings take place during the latter half of the morning. Stay tuned for more information as the event draws near!
