The Place Summer

Events in Rome, Italy

The Place Summer Summer nights in Rome are characterized by outdoor concerts, loads of dancing and lots of fruity drinks. The Place which we have mentioned before, has packed up and moved over to the banks of the Tiber River for the summer period.

We took the opportunity one balmy Wednesday night after dinner to visit. In true Italian style, the locale is extremely chic with big white sofas, a separate area for diners and a well stocked bar. The staff are extremely friendly and quick and the Caipirinhas are exquiste and extra-strong. The stage comes alive at 10:30 pm each night, but before that a resident DJ keeps the place alive with lively music. Wednesday night is Frankie and the Canthina Band and we were absolutely ecstatic when they began singing the hits of the 70's and 80's. Apparently we weren't the only ones, as patrons jumped to their feet and began dancing for the entire 2 hr set. Admission is free but drinks are around €10, and there is also an aperitivo early in the evening for an additional €5 price.
